DOVER
I'm proud to offer for sale to my customers, Dover chert. Dover is one of
the most utilized cherts in North American prehistory. It was heavily
used from the Paleo period all the way until the point of contact with
Europeans. Thousands of fluted points have been found made from
Dover chert. Dover was one of the favorite cherts of the Cumberland
people. It holds up well to heady percussion, indirect percussion, and
also flutes exceedingly well.  The color of Dover varies from black
through shades of blue and gray mottling. Brown is also represented
from a rich chocolate brown to a mottled tan. The Dover I sell has been
thoroughly checked to insure it of sufficient grade and crack free. I will
offer it as spalls for $2.50 per pound. It is also sold as bifaces priced by
the inch.
